Determined to rid Delta State of crimes, the State Police Command has arrested a drug baron in Asaba and a robber for stealing motorcycle.
The drug baron, Sajor Louis, was arrested following directive for Police officers to raid black spots in the State.
A statement issued on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer,
Delta State Command, DSP. Bright Edafe, and made available to Security Watch Africa (SWA), said “On the 19/03/2022 at about 1900hrs, Raider Operatives in compliance with the directive of CP Ari Muhammed Ali, raided a black spot in 74 area, Asaba during which one suspect named: Sajor Louis ‘m’ was arrested.
Items found on him included “ninety-one (91) wraps of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp, one hundred and twenty four (124) wraps of loud, fifty (50) parcels of SK, some razlers and some bottles of liquid mixed with substance suspected to be Indian hemp were recovered.”
The statement said investigation is still ongoing on the matter.
On the robber arrested, the statement said “On the 19/3/2022 at about 0600hrs, Safe Delta patrol team stationed along Umutu/Obiaruku Abraka Road, received an information that one unregistered Lifan ladies motorcycle parked in the compound of the complainant (name withheld) has been stolen by unknown persons, the team embarked on intensive stop and search and on 20/3/2022 at about 1030hrs, information was received that the suspect was sighted moving towards Umunede.
“He was trailed to Umunede where the suspect named: Nzubechi Emeka ‘m’, 27yrs from Egbema LGA of Imo State was arrested and upon interrogation, he confessed to the crime.
“The motorcycle was recovered and investigation is ongoing,” the statement said.
A kidnapped victim who was been conveyed in the booth of his Lexus jeep was rescued Police officers in the State.
“On the 20/3/2022 at about 0300hrs, the DPO Ozoro received an information that at about 0230hour of same date, a man was kidnapped and taken away in the boot of his RX 350 car silver in colour with Reg. No. ASB 124 HK by four armed men.
“He stated that they drove towards Ughelli in Ughelli North LGA. Consequently, Dragon Patrol Teams 27, 28, 19, 20, and 16 were massively deployed to the scene. The teams went on an intelligent led operation and trailed the kidnappers to PTI junction Effurun, where the kidnappers upon noticing that the teams were closing in on them abandoned the victim and the vehicle and fled.
“The victim (name withheld) ‘m’ age 22yrs of Ozoro was rescued unhurt and the vehicle recovered.”
Manhunt for the Kidnappers, the statement said, is ongoing.
