With the terrorists attack on Kuje Medium Prison in Abuja, a Counterterrorism Expert Based in the US, Ethelbert Onuoha Oney, has called on the Federal Government to urgently expose and sanction sponsors, sympathizers and terrorists members in the government.
Terrorists, while using high explosives on the 5th of July, 2022, had invaded the prison and set many terrorists in custody free.
In a statement made available to Security Watch Africa (SWA), Ethelbert Onuoha Oney, also urged the government to stop protecting the Boko Haram terrorist sect in the country in any form.
According to him, the attack was carried out in order to release Boko Haram terrorists for hatchet jobs during the forthcoming general elections.
He said “The Kuje prison attack was not an intelligence failure because they got the Intel that an attack was imminent. This attack was a classic master-mind (conspiracy) and a plot to release the Boko Haram members in that prison for the purpose of the upcoming election.
“Have you asked yourself these questions? How can the deadliest terrorist organization on the planet earth attack a facility and only one uniformed personnel was recorded dead?,” he queried.
He went on “The other four dead persons were inmates, if that is true in the first. Why was other VIP prisoners not released too? It is impossible considering sophisticated weapons the Boko Haram group possess, their ruthlessness, heartlessness and thirsty for blood.
“Did the Boko Haram terrorist sect come with private jets? Definitely, no, they drove vans, trucks and buses and yet information was not shared to other law enforcement agencies outside Kuje Prison, the Federal Capital of Nigeria.
According to him, the answers Nigerians deserve includes, “what was the reason intelligence about this imminent attack ignored? Intelligence Circle constitutes: Planning, collection, evaluation, analyze, dissemination and policy.
“Can someone tell Nigerians where the intelligence regarding imminent attack falls? Is there going to be accountability for this conspiracy?,” he asked.
“A society constituted without authorities or a governing body like we saw on July 5th, 2022 attack in Kuje prison and Borno State since 2009. Finally, we should unanimously say no to corruption, shame, sanction the sponsors of Boko Haram holding power in the land.
“The sooner we stop protecting the Boko Haram terrorist sect, their various factions, use their services during elections and the mentality that elected officials are above the law, the less we experience the likes of Kuje prison attacks conspiracy,” he stated.
