Towads successful hosting of the 8th CISM Military World Summer Games in 2027, a coordination meeting is holding in Pretoria, South Africa.
The coordination meeting with the South African authorities is to discuss the possibility of South Africa to host games.
Officials already in South Africa for the meeting include the CISM President, Colonel Nilton Rolim (Brazil), CISM Vice President Africa and OSMA President, Major General Maikano Abdullahi (Nigeria), and CISM Games Director, Colonel Joseph Bakari (Tanzania).
Security Watch Africa (SWA) gathered that the delegation made a courtesy call to the office of the Chief of the South African National Defence Force, General R. Maphwanya on the 12th June 2023.
A reliable source said “After the informative presentation on the modalities of organising the games from Games Director, Col Bakari which was backed by the strategic details from both CISM President and VP Africa, the Chief of the South African National Defence Force, Gen Maphwaya was convinced that South Africa can be the host of the next edition of the World Military Summer Games in 2027.
“In view of that he tasked the South African Delegation to CISM to continue with the necessary steps so as to be in line with CISM roadmap.
“The CISM delegation also had an opportunity to have a glimpse of Sports facilities earmarked for the event around Pretoria.”
The forthcoming African Military Games to be hosted in Abuja Nigeria next year 2024, the source said, will serve as a trial for African countries to the world Military championship in South Africa 2027.
