To douse tension and fear, the Theatre Commander (TC), Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Major General Gold Chibuisi, has assured members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) posted to Borno State of adequate security.
Recall that some Corps Members who were posted in the past years to the State and other troubled States in the North East had either lost their lives or were injured due to the terrorism in the areas.
That ugly situation made some Corps Members to reject postings to the States that were experiencing Boko Haram killings.
Others also abandoned their service year midway due to intensity of the activities of terrorists in the areas.
But Major General Gold Chibuisi, when he visited the National Youth Service Corps Temporary Orientation Camp in Borno State situated at Mustapha Umar El-Kanemi Arabic College, Maiduguri, Borno State on the 24 August, 2023, urged the Corps members to relax their minds.
Security Watch Africa (SWA) also gathered that “On arrival, the TC was received by the State Coordinator of the Scheme, Comrade Mohammed Adamu Jiya alongside the Camp Commandant, Major H Abdullahi.
“Thereafter, Major General Chibuisi was briefed on the security deployment of the Camp by Brigadier General TM Opurum, the Commander 7 Division Garrison.
“The TC after the brief made his observations and gave directives to ensure the fortification of the camp in order to have a hitch free orientation training.”
The Theatre Commander also used the opportunity to interact with Batch B Stream 2 Corps Members posted to the State.
“The TC charged Corps Members to exhibit high level of discipline, patriotism and respect to constituted authority.
“He further enjoined them to have a relaxed mind as he guaranteed them of adequate security and the necessary support to ensure that they enjoy their service year in Borno State.”
