To leave nothing to chances, the Acting Chief of Military Intelligence (CMI), Brigadier General Bobby Ugiagbe has sensitized personnel of 1 Division on security awareness.
This was done during sensitization lecture, which covered personnel security, security of information, security of documents and defence policy on social media among others held on 19 October, 2023 at the 1 Division’s Auditorium, Kaduna.
Security Watch Africa (SWA) gathered that the General Officer Commanding 1 Division, NA and Force Commander Operation WHIRL PUNCH, Major General Valentine Okoro reiterated the “importance of the lecture considering the evolving security situation across the country as a result of the changing dynamics of threats.”
Maj Gen Okoro urged all the participants to listen attentively to the lecture in order to derive maximum benefit.
He also welcomed the Special Guest of Honour and Commandant Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Major General John Ochai and the esteemed resource person for finding time to be at the Division’s headquarters despite their tight schedules.
He appreciated the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja for his continuous support to the Division.
In his remarks, the Special Guest of Honour and Commandant, Nigerian Defence Academy, Maj Gen John Ochai expressed delight to be at the lecture and thanked the Guest Speaker for a well packaged and brilliant lecture.
He said the lecture was brought down to the lower individual’s understanding just as he implored senior officers and other participants to act accordingly in the course of discharging their duties and responsibilities.
In attendance were the Special Guest of Honour and Commandant, NDA, Maj Gen John Ochai, the GOC 1 Division, Maj Gen Valentine Okoro, principal staff officers from 1 Division and Nigerian Defence Academy including the Academy Provost and other senior officers.
