To assess the operational readiness of troops along the Trans Niger Pipelines (TNP) from Rumuekpe up to Bonny and safety of the NLNGBNY, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa on Wednesday paid operational visit to 146 Battalion (Main) Headquarters Bonny Island in Rivers State.
He was accompanied on the visit to the Battalion by some senior officers from the tri-services.
On arrival in Finima, Rivers State, he was taken to Lt Gen F Yahaya Camp, where he was briefed on the operational activities of the Battalion by the Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel OA Oyewumi.
After the briefing at the Battalion, Gen Musa paid a courtesy call to the Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base Bonny, where he was received and briefed by the Commander, Navy Captain MA Mohammed.
He also visited the Bonny Oil and Gas Terminal where he was received and briefed by the Terminal Manager on the production state of the Trans Niger Pipeline.
General Musa also had a tour of the Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas Train 7 Project Site.
Those on the visit with the CDS included the Commander Operation DELTA SAFE, Rear Admiral JU Okeke, and the General Officer Commanding 6 Division Nigerian Army/Land Component Commander Op DELTA SAFE, Major General Jamal Abdussalam.
Also on the tour were the Chief of Defence Training and Operations, Representative of the Chief of Training and Operations (Nigerian Navy) and the Commander 6 Division Garrison/Sector 3 Operation DELTA SAFE.
Others were the Commander Nigerian Navy Ship Pathfinder, Commander 115 Special Operations Group (Nigerian Air Force) amongst others.
