The Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Command, CP Victor Olaiya, on 7th March, 2025 commissioned the newly renovated Omu-Aran Area Command in Irepodun Local Government Area of the State and 4 operational Police vehicles.
The renovation was made possible through the generous support of the Omu-Aran community, with special contributions from His Royal Majesty, the Olomu of Omu-Aran, Oba AbdulRaheem Oladele Adeoti Agboluaje, Olomu Efon II, Prof Kolawole O. Ajanaku, Vice Chancellor of Landmark University, Omu-Aran, who benevolently gave an operational vehicle as an act of the institution’s social-corporate responsibility and other donors who supported in the refurbishment of the other vehicles earlier grounded.
Speaking at the occasion, CP Olaiya commended the collaborative efforts of the community in strengthening security infrastructure.
He expressed appreciation for the unwavering support of the Olomu of Omu-Aran and his council of chiefs, emphasizing that effective policing thrives on strong community partnership.
The Commissioner of Police, according to a statement by SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, Police Public Relations Officer, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police,
Kwara State Police Command, and made available to Security Watch Africa (SWA), further lauded the professionalism and dedication of the Area Commander, ACP Muazu Ismail overseeing the jurisdiction and the Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) serving in the Omu-Aran Area Command.
He noted that their exemplary service had earned the trust and goodwill of the people, which in turn inspired the community’s investment in the station’s renovation.
Reiterating his commitment to improved policing in the State, CP Victor Olaiya charged officers and men of the command to redouble their efforts in ensuring the safety and security of all residents.
“To whom much is given, much is expected,” he stated, urging personnel to remain diligent, professional, and people-friendly in their duties.
Dignitaries present at the event included His Royal Majesty, the Olomu of Omu-Aran, Oba AbdulRaheem Oladele Adeoti Agboluaje, Olomu Efon II; members of the council of High Chiefs, The Owa of Eruku, His Royal Majesty, Oba Olarenwaju Busari Ahinde, AIG (rtd) Bankole Lanre Sikiru, other senior police officers, the Chairman Irepodun LGA, represented by the Chief of Staff, Hon Francis Ajiboye, the D.V.C of Landmark University, Prof John Ojediran, the representatives of other security agencies and notable stakeholders from the Omu-Aran community.
