Marking the maiden National Police Day Celebration, the Akwa Ibom State Police Command on Friday carried out a free medical outreach at the Itam Flyover and extended its humanitarian service to Divine Children Home, Atan Offot, Uyo.
At the children home, it donated food items and essential goods to the children.
Led by the Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, the medical outreach provided free health checkups and medications to residents, reinforcing the Command’s commitment to public welfare beyond security duties.
At the orphanage home, a statement by DSP Timfon John, Police Public Relations Officer, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State Command, and made available to Security Watch Africa (SWA), also said officers of the Command interacted with the children, sharing moments of care and support.
Receiving the items on behalf of the home, the Caretaker, Miss Emenebong Okokon, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Commissioner of Police for his generosity and compassion.
She prayed for God’s continued blessings and protection upon him and the entire Command.
CP Azare reaffirmed that the National Police Day is not only about celebrating the Force but also about strengthening community bonds through impactful engagements.
He restated the Command’s unwavering dedication to security, public service, and community development.
“The National Police Day celebration continues with more activities aimed at fostering stronger police-public relations and reinforcing the shared responsibility of building a safer society.” the statement stated.
