Operatives of the Imo State Police Command, have arrested two siblings, Chioma Emenyionu and Mishark Emenyionu, for allegedly killing their brother, Chinonso Emenyionu.
The parties, all of Uborji Village, in Okuku, Owerri West Local Government Area, Imo State, engaged in a fight over the sharing of their late father’s landed properties.
It was gathered that while Chinonso had picked a cutlass to protest the sharing formular, and threatening to kills his mum and sister, this made the siblings to pounce on him, which landed him in a hospital where he gave up the ghost.
According to a statement by the Imo State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Ikeokwu Orlando, efforts are on to arrest other suspects.
Orlando said: “ Preliminary investigation reveals that the late Chinonso was protesting the sharing formula used in the sharing of the Father’s property, as a result of which he picked up a matchete and threatened to cut his mum, his sister, Chioma Emenyionu then called their other brothers, Chigbu, Mishark and Shedrack Emenyionu, all of whom arrived the scene and descended on the late Chinonso and beat him to stupor.
“ Consequently, he was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead. However, the corpse has been deposited in the morgue, while effort is on to arrest the other fleeing suspects. Investigation is ongoing. ”
