The Lagos State Police Command has arrested popular Nollywood actor, Olarenwaju James, alias Baba Ijesha, for defiling a 14-year-old girl.
It was gathered that the 48-year-old actor started defiling the victim at age 7 and had continued the act until recently when one Princess Adekola Adekanya, reported the matter to the Sabo Police Division.
According to the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Olumiyiwa Adejobi, the case of defilement was reported on April 19, but later transferred to the Gender Unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yaba, for proper investigation.
Adejobi said: “Based on preliminary findings, the suspect started sexually assaulting the victim, 14, since she was seven-years-old. The suspect confessed to the crime and was also captured by a CCTV camera in the house of the complainant.
“The Commissioner of Police,Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered for proper investigation as he promised to do justice in the matter.”
