Towards checkmating terrorists, Nigeria’s Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo, was on assessment and operational visit to Naval Base Lake Chad in Baga.
Security Watch Africa (SWA) gathered on Wednesday that the visit was part of activities to ensure professional platform for the Nigerian Navy in Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) and Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF).
It was aimed at “effectively combating Boko Haram and Islamic State of West Africa Province Terrorists activities within the Area of Responsibility of Sector OP HADIN KAI and Multinational Joint Task Force.”
Military Officers in the CNS entourage included the Commander, Joint Task Force, North East Operation HADIN KAI, Major General Christopher Musa, the Force Commander, Multinational National Joint Task Force, Major General Abdul Khalifah Ibrahim.
Others are the Commander, Naval Base Lake Chad, Navy Commodore AD Bigel, Commander, Sector 3 Op HADIN KAI and Multinational Joint Task Force, Brigadier General GM Mutkut.
Also in the entourage were Commander, 19 Brigade, Brigadier General A Haruna, Commander, 403 Amphibious Brigade, Brigadier General IO Bassey, amongst other senior military officers.
