The newly posted Nigerian Ambassador to the Republic of Benin, Amb. Tukur Yusufu Buratai, has formally resumed duties at the Beninese capital, Cotonou.

Amb. Buratai, a former Chief of Army Staff of the Nigerian Army and a retired Lieutenant General, presented his Letter of Credence to President Patrice Tallon of the Republic of Benin after a colourful parade mounted in his honour on Tuesday 27th July, 2021.

It will be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari nominated Lt. Gen. Buratai along with four other retired Service Chiefs as Ambassador-designates immediately after he accepted their voluntary retirement.
