Glad with the outcome of the Presidential Primary Election of the All Progressives Congress (APC), a board member of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, said Nigerians will be eternally grateful to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, if he eventually emerges as Nigeria’s President.
Tinubu, who became the APC Presidential flag bearer on Wednesday, will go to the polls in 2023 against Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, and other parties’ presidential candidates.
Speaking exclusively with Security Watch Africa (SWA) crew in Lagos, Dr. Ogunsan said the good economy of Lagos State will be replicated in all the States of the Federation, when Tinubu emerges as President.
Nigerians, at the end of the election in 2023, he said, will start seeing real good governance at the centre.
He said “I congratulate Nigerians again, Nigeria is going to see good governance in the real sense of it. Nigeria is going to see the replication of Lagos in all the States of the Federation.
“Nigeria is going to see a leader who is brilliant, a talker and a doer. Nigeria is going to see more than what they bargained for.
“I’m sure at the end of the whole episode, Nigeria will be eternally grateful that they choose the man.”
He went on “So, I am encouraging Nigerians, especially the voters that when the Presidential election is going to hold, vote for the man that you have seen him turnaround a State, a mini Nigeria, he took it from the doldrum, the low ebb and brought it into limelight and he has sustained good governance through people that have emerged thereafter.”
Stressing that Nigeria, under Tinubu, will become the pride of many nations in the world, he said “That man will make our green Passport to be alive and great again. So, I see a great Nigeria coming.”
Speaking on the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo- Olu, he described him as a silent performer, who doesn’t make noise but only unveil meaningful and impactful projects close to completion.
Sanwo-Olu, he said, is a very rare State Governor and a loyal party man.
He said “He’s one of the most friendly governors. He listens more to the people than the people that surrounds him.
“We know him as a performer, his doors are open, but he is very firm.
“When he comes for the second term, the people should expect more dividends of democracy,” he stated.
Dr. Ogunsan also gave kudos to the prevailing calm and peaceful security situation in Lagos State.
The current Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi, he said, has been a round peg in a round hole since he resumed in the State in the past five months.
He said “Lagos State is the safest State in the country. As a resident, I sleep with my eyes closed. And our security model in the State has been working.
“The investment of the government in the State has produced great security output. Because of this, there is always envy about Lagos State Police Command from other State Commands,” he noted.
On the Commissioner of Police, he said “Recently, we now got a very outstanding Police Officer, smart, a strategist. He is not a noisemaker, but you see his results virtually in every angle in the State, as far as policing is concerned. That is the newest CP in Lagos, Sylvester Alabi.
“Very fantastic officer, I must confess. It has always been our fear that are we going to continually have the best CP in Lagos. Consistently, God has been very kind to us in giving us such men.
“Coming to Alabi, I must confess to you, he’s the best we can have. And since he came, there is relative peace in Lagos. He came on board to sustain that peace, there have been calmness in all the various parts of the State. His Commanders are always at alert.
“He has a very fantastic relationship with the public. His response time to issues, incidents and distress calls has been very fantastic. He has a very firm coordination with his men.
“Let me also not forget to say that the synergy between him and other security agencies in the State has been very outstanding. I think we are comfortable.
“The CP Alabi should keep up the good work. He should not relent, he should continue to sustain the tempo and keep Lagos safe at all times,” he stated.
