Some Nigerians have thrown their weights behind the reelection bid of Ambassador Bankole Adeoye as Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security at the African Union (AU).
Some sources, who spoke on conditions of anonymity with Security Watch Africa (SWA), gave the verdict.
According to them, Ambassador Bankole Adeoye, deserves another tenure.
One of the sources said “Ambassador Bankole Adeoye is a true champion of peace and security in Africa, and his dedication to the continent’s prosperity is truly inspiring. As the Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security at the African Union, he’s made significant strides in promoting regional integration, inclusive partnerships, and good governance.
“His commitment to finding peaceful solutions to conflicts and promoting sustainable development is a beacon of hope for the continent.” he added.
Another source said “With over three decades of experience as a career diplomat, Ambassador Adeoye has built a reputation as a strong advocate for Africa’s transformation.
“He’s worked tirelessly to build synergy across the continent, bringing together nations and organizations to achieve common goals.”
His leadership on issues such as conflict management, counter-terrorism, and climate change, according to a third source,, has been impressive.
