Police detectives have arrested a young woman, Caroline Mutinda, for the death of a 24-year-old man alleged to be her estranged boyfriend.
It was gathered that the deceased, Henry Mburu Njeri, died after a deep stab was inflicted on his neck, in Embakasi, Nairobi, where he had gone to visit Mutinda.
According to the detectives, when Mburu arrived at Mutinda’s house located on the fourth floor of Charles Mberia Flats, he found her with two other men making merry, as they consume drinks.
In a witness statement taken by the detectives, an infuriated Mburu demanded to know what the two were doing in her house.
“ An argument started between the estranged lovers leading to the deceased’s stabbing but it is yet to be established who amongst the three stabbed Mburu, ” detectives stated.
It is reported that the deceased crept down the flight of stairs with blood gushing out of his neck as he sought help, but collapsed as he approached the apartment’s gate.
One of the neighbours reported hearing some commotion from upstairs, as detectives said that Mburu bled to his last breath.
“ When I got outside, I found many people in the compound some saying that somebody had been killed and upon moving closer, I found out that the deceased was Henry Mburu Njeri, ” the neighbour said.
Mutinda alongside her two guests William Nderitu and one simply identified as Eshikimu have been placed in custody.
“ The three will be arraigned in court on Tuesday next week to answer murder charges, ” detectives said.
