Following reports of robberies in Joska area, in Nairobi County, the Inspector General of National Police Service, Kenya, Hilary Mutyambai, has ordered intensive day and night patrol of the area.
Security Watch Africa gathered that the report was made to the #EngageTheIG Forum and investigated by the Sub-County Police Commander.
“ The Complainant’s contact number was obtained by the Sub-County Police Commander Athi River and communication was immediately established.
“ The Sub-County Police Commander, Matungulu also called the complainant through her mobile phone contact and visited the area accompanied by the Ward Police Commander, Joska Police Station.
“ Sub-County Police Commander, Matungulu directed police officers to intensify day and night Patrols in the area to exhaustively curb the menace. Patrol teams were provided with an additional Police Car and bikes for intensified patrols within the area, ” a police source said.
It was also learnt that several arrests were made and consequently, the crime rate dropped drastically.
The IG also assured that same effort would be maintained to ensure neighborhoods remain safe and secure
