A man, Kevin Onyango, 34 years old, has been arrested by the Kenyan Police in Jera village in Siaya county for clobbering his 42 years old wife, Emmaculate Mayavi, to death.
The suspect got angry when he returned home from work and found his wife in a drunken stupor at a chang’aa drinking den.
After thoroughly beating the wife, a statement by the Kenyan
Directorate of Criminal Investigations, obtained on Tuesday by Security Watch Africa (SWA) said “He then put her on a wheelbarrow and pushed her home, where she is reported to have developed complications and passed away during the night.”
The statement had stated “A man is in Police custody for clobbering his wife to death after he found her in a drunken stupor at a chang’aa drinking den in Ugenya’s Jera village in Siaya county.
“Kevin Onyango, 34, is reported to have gone home yesterday evening after a long day at work and found his wife missing. He looked for her frantically, only to find her at a chang’aa drinking den heavily intoxicated.
“An infuriated Onyango descended on her with kicks and blows further immobilizing his 42-year-old wife Emmaculate Mayavi, who could barely stand on her feet.”
The suspect, the statement said, is currently in custody at Sihay Police station, being processed for arraignment to answer to murder charges.
