For their attempted ritual killing of a 13 years old girl in Bayelsa State, detectives of Bayelsa State Police Command in collaboration with youths of Sagbama Community have arrested three suspects.
The suspects are Emomotimi Magbisa ‘m’ 15 years, Perebi Aweke ‘m’ 15 years and Eke Prince ‘m’ 15 years, all natives of Sagbama Community.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Bayelsa State Command, SP Asinim Butswat, and made available to Security Watch Africa (SWA), said that preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects had on the 3rd of January 2022, at about 0900 hours, allegedly accosted the victim, Endeley Comfort ‘f’ 13 years.
They were said to have hypnotized the victim to follow them to the apartment of Emomotimi Magbisa in Sagbama Community, and then “cut her finger and sprinkle the blood on a mirror for ritual purposes.”
Vigilant youths in the area, the statement said, noticed the suspicious movements of the suspects and raised alarm.
It said “The suspects were subsequently arrested and some substance suspected to be charms were recovered from them. The suspects have confessed to the crime.
“The victim was rescued and rushed to the hospital for medical attention.
“The suspects have been transferred to the Anti-kidnapping unit for discreet Investigation,” it stated.
The Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State Command, CP Ben Nebolisa Okolo, the statement said, has commended the efforts of the community youths for “vigilance in the community.”
