…Rescue victims and took them to the hospital for medical attention
Police operatives attached to 3-3 Police Station in Nkwelle Ezunaka of the Anambra State Command, have arrested two suspects for allegedly confining three children (2 boys and a girl) inside different rooms at NO.13 Akunwanta Mbamalu Street, Federal Housing Estates, 3-3 Nkwelle Ezunaka. The suspects were arrested, around 5:00pm, on Friday.
The suspects were said to have subjected the children to physical and emotional torture without feeding and inflicted several wounds on their body leaving them unconscious.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, CSP Haruna Mohammed, PPRO, in a statement identified the suspects as Rejoice Raymond ‘f’ aged 39 years of Akunwanta Mbamalu Street,Federal Housing Estates 3-3 Area, and Mr. Chidi Felicia Nwafor ‘m’ aged 80 years of same address.
The PPRO’s statement read thus, the “Suspects allegedly confined three children (2 boys and a girl) inside different rooms at NO.13 Akunwanta Mbamalu Street, Federal Housing Estates 3-3 Nkwelle Ezunaka and subjected them into physical and emotional torture without feeding and inflicted several wounds on their body leaving them unconscious.
“Scene was visited by the DPO 3-3 CSP Abdu Bawa where a gory sights of badly battered victims, one with a broken arm were found in the pool of their blood and whose parents were neither seen nor known.
“Meanwhile,the children were rescued and rushed to the hospital for medical attention.
“Preliminary Investigation further revealed some fetish substances, blood stained canes,concoctions and other incriminating items were all recovered inside the rooms and registered as exhibits.
“Consequently, the Commissioner of Police, CP Monday Bala Kuryas, has ordered for a discreet investigation into the circumstances surrounding the case after which suspects would be brought to justice.”
