The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, has commended the courage and commitment of troops during a morale-boosting visit to the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI in Maiduguri, Borno State.
Giving the stirring tribute to the Nigerian Air Force personnel combating insurgency in the North-East, he said “Your sacrifices are etched in the history of this nation, and in the hearts of millions of Nigerians who sleep safer because of your vigilance.”
Air Marshal Abubakar emphasized that their bravery and resilience in the face of adversity have not gone unnoticed.
A statement by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, and made available to Security Watch Africa (SWA) said the CAS’s visit, marked by personal interactions with troops, underscored his deep appreciation for their dedication and the vital role airpower plays in neutralizing threats and protecting communities.
Commanders, according to the statement, briefed the CAS on recent operational gains, showcasing the strategic value of precision air strikes and close air support.
Reaffirming the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to maintaining dominance in the battlespace, the CAS pledged continued investment in cutting-edge technology to empower frontline units.
Accompanied by senior officers from Headquarters NAF, Air Marshal Abubakar’s visit comes at a critical moment, reinforcing the importance of public support for military operations and spotlighting the human element at the heart of national defence.
The Nigerian Air Force, the statement said, remained steadfast in its mission, guided by leadership, strengthened by unity, and driven by the selfless service of its personnel.
