To facilitate learning, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, on Saturday 11 June, 2022, commissioned four blocks of 12 classrooms with eight offices at the Nigerian Army School of Military Police (NASMP), Basawa, Zaria in Kaduna State.
He also inspected ongoing projects in the school.
Security Watch Africa (SWA) gathered that the projects included the Nigerian Army School of Military Police Headquarters block, remodelled students canteen, and renovated block of classrooms.
The COAS, in his quest for climate amelioration, also assisted the Principal Staff Officers of Army Headquarters in flagging off the tree planting exercise for an eco-friendly environment.
The Commissioning is “one outcome of the COAS maiden visit to the School on 7 October, 2021. The Basawa Community has been in awe of a series of renovations, remodelling and construction of modern edifices in NASMP and Basawa Barracks.”
The COAS also visited the NASMP K9 wing of the School on a guided tour, where he witnessed some impressive displays by the dog handlers and their locally bred four-month-old dogs.
Those that attended the events included Principal Staff Officers from Army Headquarters, Commanders of formations and units, Commandants from training institutions, Staff Officers and Instructors of the School.
