Arising from the Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya’s promise to reward personnel for gallantry, the Theatre Commander (TC), Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Major General Christopher Musa is continuing his visits to frontines to reiterate the COAS’s resolve to encourage and motivate officers and soldiers through rewards.
Maj. -Gen. Musa who is on a-2 day familiarization and operational visit to troops in units and formations of the Theatre of OPHK, assures them that the Nigerian Army helmsman is poised to not only dish out rewards for exceptional displays but to ensure that their logistics requirements are provided.
The Theatre Commander kicked off these visits in 7 Division Garrison and units under command to acquaint himself with the locations, assess troops’ deployment, as well as the efforts employed to counter Boko Haram Terrorists (BHTs) and their Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) collaborators.
He was at the Headquarters 27 Task Force Brigade in Buni Gari, where he evaluated the operational readiness of the Brigade and units under it.
While addressing the Troops of the Brigade at their location in Buni Gari, Maj. -Gen Musa conveyed the commendation and appreciation of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. -Gen. Faruk Yahaya to the troops for their commitment in the fight against terrorism and insurgency.
He equally charged them to remain focused and dedicated in the fight and urged them to always stay disciplined and maintain the tempo of the operations.
The Commander Sector 2, Brigadier General Adamu Nura together with the Commander 27 Task Force Brigade (Bde), Brigadier General Bemgba Koughna and the Deputy Commandant, Nigerian Army Special Forces School, Brigadier General Warrah Idris, received the Theatre Commander, OPHK who was accompanied by Commander 7 Division Garrison, Brigadier General Abubakar Haruna, Theatre Civil/Military Coordinator, Navy Captain Sunday Ayuba and other Principal Staff Officers in the Theatre.
Gen. Musa also met and addressed members of the vigilante group deployed in the area.
