Four suspects, allegedly wanted for the kidnap of a businessman, Williams Aduwoma, in Ozoro, Delta State have been arrested by operatives of the State Police Command.
The suspects identified as Oletu Augustine, 35, Obi Francis, 25, Udumubra Okema, 35, and one simply identified as Nwachukwu, 24, were all arrested in their various Hideout in Aradhe community and Iyeriri Quaters Ozoro.
Security Watch Africa had reported that Aduwoma, was kidnapped by the suspects on April 1, but abandoned him in the Bush after Police launched a rescue operation for the victim.
According to a statement signed by the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Edafe Bright, the suspects were rounded up after a directive by the Commissioner of Police, Delta State, CP Ari Muhammed Ali.
Bright said: “ The CP ordered that the suspects must be arrested, so they can be made to face the law. The Divisional Police Officer, Ozoro Division also did not relent. After tireless effort by the Police, and swift intelligence gathering, on April 4, four suspects, were arrested in their various hideout in Aradhe community and Iyeriri Quaters Ozoro.
“ They have all confessed to be members of the gang that kidnapped the said William Aduwoma who was earlier rescued by the Police. Infinix phone, a car key, belonging to the victim was recovered from them. Also, daggers and charms were recovered from them. Effort is on top gear to arrest the fleeing members of the gang, and in no time, they will be arrested and brought to book. ”
