The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested five members of a seven man gang, that allegedly robbed a school at Kafe-Life Camp, and carted away computers and other valuables.
The suspects, Anthony Gambo, 32, Haruna Musa, 25, Mustapha Mohammed, 20, Hamisu Umar 21, and Nazifi Mohammed 20, were arrested while operatives were on patrol around the area.
According to the FCT Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Yusuf Mariam, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Exhibits recovered from the suspects were said to include an HP Laptop and one Apple Mac Laptop.
Similarly, Police operatives from Wuye Division have arrested one Kamal Haruna, 27, Frank Onoja, 46, Adejoh Steven, 54, and Guede Nelson, 60, for being in possession of counterfeit Naira notes.
Security Watch Africa reports that the suspects, who confessed to defrauding unsuspecting members of the public, were in possession of fake N5,700,000 notes.
Mariam in a detailed update of event in the command said: “ In another development, Police operatives from Galadinmawa, arrested one Charity Timothy, 23, and Sunday Godwin, 23, along Durumi axis for one chance robbery.
“ The suspects confessed to terrorizing residents along that axis. Exhibits recovered are one red colour Volkswagen reg no. BWR 903 HE. All the suspects will be arraigned in court upon conclusion of investigation.”
The PPRO said the Command employs residents to report all suspicious movements, emergency or distress, through its ergecy numbers on 08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653 and 08028940883.
Mariam also urged residents to report the conduct of Police Officers to the Public Complaint Bureau (PCB) number: 09022222352
