For improved security in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), eight (8) officers including three Divisional Police Officers (DPO), two Tactical Commanders, amongst others, have been commended by the Commissioner of Police, FCT Police Command, CP Benneth C. Igweh.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, issued on behalf of the Commissioner of Police and made available to Security Watch Africa {SWA) said the officers have contributed in stabilizing and improving public safety and security in the Command.
The Commissioner of Police, FCT Police Command, CP Benneth C. Igweh, the statement said has “commended the personnel of the Command for their new zeal, uncommon gallantry, passion, and hard-work as evident in the recent successes recorded in stabilizing and improving public safety and security in the Command”.
The CP noted that eight (8) officers including three Divisional Police Officers (DPO), two Tactical Commanders, amongst others, were commended particularly for distinguishing themselves in how they motivate and inspire personnel serving under them to contain security threats in their jurisdiction.
The CP, while addressing officers during a meeting with the Command Management Team, DPOs and Head of Tactical Squads to assess security situation in the Command, expressed his sincere appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olukayode Egbetokun, for the support received from the Police High Command.
He enjoined the awardees to maintain the level of dedication and steadfastness to service that earned them the commendation.
The CP equally thanked the residents of FCT for their patience and resilience as well as the support to the Police, particularly in the rendition of useful information to prevent and combat crimes in the Command.
He assured that the Police would continue to up the ante in the fight against crime and criminality in the FCT.
