The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Borno State Command, has said the evening and night patrols by operatives will continue.

The Commandant, Mr. Abdullahi Ibrahim, who disclosed this said the patrols within Maiduguri metropolis and its environs is to deny the criminal elements the luxury of free activities.

He said: “On May 16 and 17, we arrested various criminal gangs including a “Fake Army Captain in half dress” with dangerous weapons (daggers, knives, etc) around Mafoni liberty, Damboa Rd, Alajeri near borehole, Circular Road GRA after curfew hours.

“Exhibits found in their possessions were cash, handsets, motor spare parts, household items,vandalised electrical cables.”


Ibrahim said the major constraint of the agency is the continued strike action by judicial workers which is affecting her overstretched detention facilities.
