Police operatives attached to Bariga Division under the Lagos State Police Command has arrested four members of he Oodua Peoples’ Congress (OPC) for beating and stabbing a 35-year-old man, Tochukwu Chidi, to death.
The incident reportedly happened, last Saturday, February 13, at No. 76 Arobadede Street, Bariga, following an argument between the deceased and some OPC members at Temple Street, Bariga.
It was learnt that the suspects had, after the argument, trailed the deceased to his house address, where they attacked and inflicted injuries on him.
According to the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Chidi was being rushed to the General Hospital, Bariga, for treatment before he was confirmed dead.
In a statement issued, on Sunday, Mr. Adejobi identified the suspects as; Sunday Onilede, 35, Azan Razak, 35, Abdullahi Ibrahim, 29, and Fatai Taiwo, 40,
He said, “The Commissioner of Police (CP), Hakeem Odumosu, has condemned the act and directed that the matter be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yaba for proper investigation and prosecution. ”
