Reacting to some media reports, the Commissioner of Police, FCT Police Command, CP Babaji Sunday, has declared that there was no invasion by armed men on the Abuja residence of Senator Sani Musa representing Niger East Senatorial District in the hollowed chambers of the National Assembly.
According to a statement made available to Security Watch Africa (SWA) by the FCT Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Josephine Adeh, on behalf of the the Commissioner of Police, residents of the FCT were urged to disregard the reports.
The statement reads in parts “This is contrary to false publications being peddled by some media platforms who have failed to verify information in a bid to be perceived as “breaking the news”.
“The CP, in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, has carried out strategic review of the security architecture in the FCT with improved deployments where necessary.
“He therefore urges residents of the FCT to disregard the publication as the contents are false and targeted at causing unnecessary unrest amongst FCT residents, while vigilance is strongly advised,” it said.
