Reacting to a distress call from concerned citizens, Police officials in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have arrested a young man who climbed a very high mast with a placard at ASO Radio in Katampe, Abuja at about 09:10 a.m.
A statement by SP Josephine Adeh, Police Public Relations Officer, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, FCT, Abuja, CP Benneth Igweh and made available to Security Watch Africa (SWA), said “With much professional persuasions from the Police operatives, the man later identified as Shuaibu Alhaji Yushau was prevented from taking his own life.
“He claimed to have been observing the mast for about a week before deciding to climb it.”
The statement said the suspect is presently in Police custody and in a stable condition.
It also promised to make public further development on the matter.
