Worried by fatal cult clash in Bayelsa State, the Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State Command, CP Ben Nebolisa Okolo has ordered Police Operatives to identify and fish out suspected cultists who murdered a mechanic at Arietalin Street, Yenagoa, the State capital.
The mechanic was said to have been murdered during cult clash in the State.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Bayelsa State Command, SP Asinim Butswat. It was made available to Security Watch Africa (SWA).
It said “On 25th July 2022, at about 1300 hours, Policemen responded to a distress call of cult Clash at Arietalin Street, Yenagoa.
“On arrival the Policemen discovered a lifeless body of a mechanic, one Friday surname unknown, who was shot by the cultists.
“The photograph of the scene was taken and the corpse was evacuated and deposited at the Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital, Okolobiri,” it stated.
The statement added that investigation was still ongoing to identify and arrest the culprits.
