An operation by the office of Lejweleputswa District Commissioner, South African Police Service, Maj Gen Lerato Molale, has led to the arrest of a 25-year-old female drug peddler with large quantities of assorted drugs recovered.
It was gathered that the suspect who was arrested alongside 14 other criminals, was in possession of 48 full tablets believed to be Mandrax, 16 Quater tablets, 05 halve tablets and cash.
Molale stated that operatives also found 54 pokes of dagga near one of the houses in Kgotsong, after a suspect threw away a plastic bag and ran away to evade arrest.
He also revealed that the female suspect was arrested at Newstands Kgotsong, Bothaville.
Speaking on the operation, the Police boss said: “ The operation started with a cordon and search at the taxi rank. There suspects were nabbed for being illegal immigrants as they could not produce their documents. At the end of the operation about 15 persons were arrested for various crimes. Six suspects were arrested for drugs including dagga, five were undocumented illegal immigrants while four were nabbed for possession of dangerous weapons. ”
