Worried by a robbery at a Clinic in Vosman on Sunday, the Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Manamela has strongly condemned the business robbery incident.
The Police in South Africa said the suspects had held the security guards, the entire staff and patients at gunpoint before robbing them of their personal items.
A statement by South African Police Service (SAPS) Mpumalanga Province, and obtained on Monday by Security Watch Africa (SWA), said the Police is already on the trail of suspects who masterminded the robbery incident.
It said “The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Manamela has strongly condemned a business robbery incident which occurred at a clinic in Vosman earlier today, Sunday, 03 October, 2021 around 02:25. The Police at Vosman have since launched a manhunt for suspects following this shocking incident.
“According to Police report, two armed suspects entered at Empumelelweni Clinic in Vosman and allegedly held the security guards, as well as the entire staff and patients at gunpoint where they (suspects) robbed them of their personal items, including cellphones before fleeing the scene.
“During the said robbery the victims were reportedly assaulted meanwhile others were sprayed with pepper spray whilst some security guards sustained injuries.
“The suspects are said to have then fled the scene with the robbed items. The incident was then reported to the Police at Vosman where a case was opened accordingly and an investigation began hence the manhunt.”
The Police at Vosman, according to the statement, appealed to members of the public to assist with information regarding the incident or the whereabouts of the suspects by contacting the Branch Commander, Colonel One Thobejane on “082 372 2195 or call Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
