To determine the motives behind shooting in Crossroads Township in Western Cape Province that claimed the lives of three men, the South African Police Service (SAPS) is beaming its searchlight on the incident.
The shooting was also said to have resulted in the injury of two other persons.
A Press Statement by Brigadier Novela Potelwa, of SAPS, Office of the Provincial Commissioner Western Cape, and obtained on Sunday by Security Watch Africa (SWA), said “Nyanga Police are investigating murder and attempted murder cases after three men were shot dead, two other persons sustaining gunshot wounds on Saturday afternoon in Crossroads, Nyanga.
“It is alleged that suspects in a minibus taxi fired several shots at four men standing on the corner of Situlo Street after 14:00hrs.
“Three died on the scene while a fourth one sustained serious injury. A woman in her thirties who was standing outside her home was hit by a stray bullet during the shooting.
“The ages of the victims are estimated between 25 and 33 years of age. Their identities will be released once their next of kin have been informed.
“The motive for the shooting is yet to be determined. No arrests have been made,” the statement said.
