An all night operation at Zululand District in Durban, South Africa, has led to the recovery of 118 assorted bank cards, with three rifles and 107 ammunitions seized.
A statement by the South African Police Service, Office of the Provincial Commissioner KwaZulu-Natal, has it that a team from the Provincial Organised Crime Narcotics Unit proceeded to a house in Mondlo to execute a search warrant.
The statement signed by Captain Nqobile Gwala, said: “ The owner of the house was not in the house however, the premises was searched in the presence of family members. A search was conducted in the main bedroom where a safe was found concealed in a wardrobe.
“ Police found 107 rounds of ammunition in the safe. In another room, Police officers found an AK-47 rifle, a pistol and a revolver that were hidden in a wardrobe. All the recovered firearms are unlicensed.
“ Police also found R179,200-00 in cash in another safe while a total of 52 SASSA cards, 19 bankcards, 47 easy pay cards and 130 identity documents were found in the house. Police investigations are continuing ”.
