A team from Visible Policing and Corporate Communication and Liaison visited Bonxa High and Caba Junior Secondary Schools respectively in Ntabankulu last Friday, March 26.
Security Watch Africa reports that the visit is aimed at engaging learners with regard to criminality in and out of schools.
“ Sexual harassment was the main agenda point for the day, ” the Programme Coordinator, Colonel Michelle Matroos said.
She further described the initiative as a working strategy and tool to involve children and youth in the fight against crime.
” We drove more than 400 kilometres away from our working environment to ensure that we involve children and youth in general in the fight against crime, as according to books, youth forms majority of perpetrators, ” she said..
Education Development Officer from Department of Education from Alfred Ndzo District, Mr Sibutha appreciated the effort by the South African Police Service in controlling behaviour and conduct of children. He further indicated that concentrating on learners is imperative, so as to equip them to shape the society.
