Seven South African Infantry Battalion members, who performed exceptionally during their deployment for Operation Corona at the Republic of South Africa/Mozambique Borderline, have been commended.
The operatives received the commendation from the Officer Commanding Joint Tactical Headquarters, Colonel M.S. Gopane.
According to Gopane, the presentation of the commendation Certificate, comes ahead of the end of the toru by the seven operatives.
“ The Ceremony replaced the usual Farewell Parade which takes place in the last month of the deployed unit’s service on the borderline. Members were congratulated and encouraged to build on the unit’s current successes which amount to nearly R60 000 000.00 in monetary value, ” he said.
In another development, the General Officer Commanding South Africa Army Infantry Formation, Major General P.N. Dube and his entourage paid a courtesy visit to Joint Tactical Headquarters Limpopo.
Security Watch Africa reports that Dube was on his way to Musina Ops Base where soldiers are deployed, when he stopped over for the visit.
Dube who is visiting units under his Command as the General Officer Commanding South Africa Army Infantry Formation, was hosted by the Acting Officer Commanding Joint Tactical Headquarters and unit staff members.
